Procrastination and Rationalization

So, I desperately need to be studying for my International Relations midterm tomorrow, but I seem to have hit the point where I just keep reading the same page over and over again and not remembering any of it.  I suppose I am just excited to go home tomorrow afternoon, and about all the good things that will be waiting for me at home...cuddling with my kitty, watching the Yankees/Twins playoffs with my little brother, going to see the Chihuly glass at Cheekwood and thrifting with my mom

Speaking of thrifting...I have had some good luck recently.

First, I found this awesome vintage Walt Disney World tray at Goodwill.  Anyone that knows me could tell you that Disney World is my absolute favorite place on Earth, and that I'm nuts for all things Disney!

Two weekends ago I hit up my favorite vintage/antique mall in Knoxville called Nostalgia.  One booth had a lot of vintage sewing notions.  I picked out these great buttons, and a grab bag that was filled with all sorts of different vintage lace.  It was such a good deal at 5 bucks...there's at least a couple of yards of each, and a couple had about 15 yards.  There were two other bags, but I had to be strong and limit myself to just one.

I also got this Beatles Record.  It is in great shape, and has been a nice addition to my collection.

Finally, I got a bag of yarn at Goodwill.  It was 5 dollars, and I couldn't exactly tell how much was in it, but it looked like a lot, so I decided to go for it.  There ended up being 10 skeins, so at 50 cents a piece, that isn't a bad deal.

However, I have a confession to make.  In the week following that purchase, I have accumulated an aditional 32 skeins of yarn.  Yes, you read that right...in the past week I have bought 42 skeins of yarn! 42!  Now before you judge me, you should know that I plan on using most of it to make Christmas gifts and things to start my Etsy shop ( which should be live by the end of the month), and the average price per skein only ends up being about $1.67So really, it was actually a very good deal, and since I'm making on average 3 scarfs a week now my stash needed to be replenished.  Yes, I am totally trying to rationalize these purchases, but the truth of the matter is, I'm just addicted to all things yarn.  Like I said before, don't judge me.

I suppose it's time to get back to that riveting International Relations reading I've been avoiding...
